Publication Committee

Location: Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh – Squirrel Hill, Meeting Room A 5801 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217 The struggle for freedom and against capitalism is the demand for the needs of every person to be met: not only for the things we need to physically survive, but also for the survival of our spirits. We demand not only bread, but roses, too. To that end, and with the intention of building a supportive creative community of like-minded artists, the Socialist & Anti-Capitalist Writing Workshop has been formed. The workshop is sponsored by Pittsburgh Democratic Socialists of America, though you don't need to be a DSA member to participate.  This workshop will include time to write in response to prompts. We encourage attendees to bring written work you would like feedback on so that we can workshop and provide feedback together. Please bring 5 copies of your work if you would like feedback. Organizers can print and bring them for you if needed. Please email steelcitysocialist@pghdsa.org with a link to a google doc of your work no later than November 5th. For November, we are meeting in person. Our December meeting will be virtual via zoom.
